 Energy Assistance

The City of Lubbock’s Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program is currently taking applications.  This grant is designed to assist low-income persons with energy assistance.  Priority is given to the elderly, disabled, or households with children under 6, with highest energy consumption, and lowest incomes.  If you or a family member is in need of assistance with replacing or repairing your air conditioner, heater, water heater or refrigerator, please contact Carmen Martinez at 775-3081 to see if you qualify.  If you are in need of assistance with your gas or electric bill and you are elderly or disabled 60 years of age and older please contact Neighborhood House at 741-0459 or if you are disabled under 60 years of age call LIFE/RUN at 795-5433.

Lifelong Learning
Texas Tech Lifelong Learning Community (TTLLC) is a membership organization which provides learning opportunities for people who are 55 years of age and older who want to continue to expand their knowledge and interests. No tests. No grades. Just the opportunity to learn something new. Through this program, you'll meet and interact with people in the community by participating in classroom learning, discussion groups, special events, and social activities. Classes include Dinner and Drama, Lunch & Learning at the Lubbock Club, Readers' Circle, Guest Chefs, Computer Basics, and many more and you do not have to be a member to take the classes.  General Assistance

2-1-1 is the new abbreviated dialing code for free information and referrals about community organizations and resources. It serves as the first number to call to link individuals and families to appropriate resources and information. 2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in multiple languages (2-1-1 is not accessible to cell phones.
